Rein Medical equips onboard hospitals of cruise ships with keyboards and mice.
TUI Cruises is an established cruise brand in the German-speaking market. It has seven ships in its fleet. There are often well over 3,000 people on board, counting passengers and crew. This also necessitates professional medical care for passengers and crew members. As part of a hygiene and safety concept, the shipping company has equipped its cruise ships with MEDIGENIC computer mice and keyboards - the hygienic inputting solution from Rein Medical.
The onboard hospitals of the Mein Schiff® fleet are equipped exactly like the emergency room of a German hospital. Besides a digital X-ray system and a modern ultrasound unit, they have an intensive care unit with monitoring units and an operating room for minor surgery. "Thanks to the introduction of the MEDIGENIC keyboards and mice, we can ensure high standards of hygiene in onboard hospitals thanks to rapid disinfection. The keyboards can be cleaned with the approved hospital disinfectants and also offer our medical staff a pleasant typing experience," says Angelina Köhler, Head of Medical Department at TUI Cruises, as she explains the investment in the solution developed by Rein Medical.
Safe against viruses
The medical keyboards and mice aid users by providing quick cleaning and moisture resistance. This makes them ideal for use in hygienically sensitive environments. The flat, ergonomic and hygienic keyboard design with IP65 protection as well as an abrasion-resistant and removable surface facilitates rapid disinfection. The moisture-resistant silicone-based surface is waterproof, latex-free, flexible and extremely durable.
The easily perceptible sensory feedback afforded by the MEDIGENIC hygienic keyboards ensures fast and reliable data input. Just like the keyboards, the surface of the MEDIGENIC scroll mouse is impervious to antibacterial sprays or liquid cleaning agents, as it is made of flexible silicone.
